WHERE YOUR HEALTH COMES FIRST

MANUAL PHYSICAL THERAPY

Hands on approach to treatment which includes techniques such as soft tissue massage, mobilizations and manipulations. Manual therapy helps to modulate pain, improve range of motion, mobilize restricted joints, facilitate muscle action, and enhance healing and repair.  I believe that providing manual care is more effective and the best use of a patient's time than utilizing mechanical modalities like ultrasound and electronic stimulation.

INTEGRATIVE DRY NEEDLING

While dry needling uses thin filiform acupuncture needles, dry needling is not acupuncture.  Dry needling is a minimally invasive technique, rooted Western medicine, and treats the body's musculoskeletal and nervous systems.  Needles are inserted into triggers points, muscle, fascia and connective tissues.  Research indicates that it is effective for pain control, releasing muscle tension, and restoring normal body physiology.  In practice, needles augment manual therapy and access places in the body that hands can not.

CUPPING

While these “spots” may look painful, the vast majority of my patients report cupping to be a pain free and pain relieving treatment.  The vacuum effect of cupping improves microcirculation, lymphatic flow, breaks down scar tissue and adhesions, and softens muscle and tissue tension.  If bruising occurs, it's often temporary and dissipates within days.

WHY DON'T YOU TAKE MY INSURANCE?

I believe that the insurance model does not support the treatment model at Performance Physical Therapy.  Traditional physical therapy clinics often have to juggle two to three patients per hour, delegating modalities and therapeutic exercises to technicians. Unfortunately, insurance companies can have a great influence on the type of treatment therapists provide.  I do not believe this provides a patients centered model for care, thus being of lesser quality and efficacy.  I stand behind the treatment philosophy that manual physical therapy produces greater benefits in a decreased amount of time.  Manual therapy, the hands on time between a patient and therapist is often sacrificed in order to increase clinic production.  I am passionate about providing 50 minutes of individualized manual therapy and personal attention to needs of patients.
Upon request, I will provide receipts with proper treatment codes in order seek insurance reimbursement for out of pocket expenses.   Please check with your insurance company regarding out of network physical therapy reimbursement.
